Our meat and egg buyers are the beneficiaries of our high standards for our own food that we enjoy here at Big Table Farm.
The Free Range, Grass Fed, Traveling, Egglayin' Girls
- our hens are free range and have certified organic, oregon grown, non corn non soy feed to supplement their diet
- they have never been given any antibiotics etc. I bought them as "certified organic" chicks and they have always been kept that way
- they live around the "chicken bus"
- the chicken bus was made with 90% recycled or re-purposed materials
- the chicken bus by design is self cleaning with a mesh bottom and tons of ventilation - clean house = healthy girls
The Grass Fed, Traveling Porkers
- the pigs are pasture raised and on grass full time and have certified organic, oregon grown, non corn non soy feed to supplement their diet
- in fall they get apples and pears from our trees and are finished on hazelnuts
- they have never been given any antibiotics etc.
- they live around the "winnapigo"
- the "winnapigo" was made with 90% recycled or re-purposed materials
- they are slaughtered on the farm in there pasture as peacefully as possible - I am present for every kill
- the breed is a heritage breed with beatful fat flavor and texture - Berkshire Duroc cross
The Free Range, Grass Fed, Broilers
- the meat birds are on grass full time and have certified organic, oregon grown, non corn non soy feed to supplement their diet
- they have never been given any antibiotics etc.
- they live in the"Chicken Motel" and are moved daily to new fresh grass
- the "Chicken Motel" was made with 90% recycled or re-purposed materials
- the breed is a slow growing heritage breed - Red Rangers
And next years beef - coming soon to a freezer near you -
- The cows only eat grass and are moved constantly to new fresh grass
